PINKHAM NOTCH — “Proving Ground.” That’s the apt name of a new short documentary film, produced by the Warden Collective of Plymouth in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service’s Mount Washington Avalanche Center to raise public awareness about Tuckerman Ravine’s notorious dangers.

The film, through interviews and some amazing footage (some historic; others shot by the film crew over the past two years), documents its reputation as an extreme skiing “proving ground” for skiers in search of a demanding challenge that can turn deadly in an instant, either from a long-sliding fall, an avalanche, opening of a crevasse or any number of other hazards.
