CONWAY — Happy 249th, Uncle Sam! The Fourth of July falling on a Friday this year makes for a three-day weekend, which ought to bring lots of visitors to Mount Washington Valley. Here’s a rundown of local celebrations, parades and fireworks, some happening Thursday, some Friday, some Saturday, some Sunday, and some, as in Gorham, all four days.

CONWAY: The parade starts at 1:30 p.m. on Friday at Kennett Middle School. in Conway Village at Kennett Middle School July 4 at 1:30 p.m. Groups interested in joining the parade should download an application from conwaynhrec.gov. Parade participants are asked to gather by 1 p.m. behind the middle school.
