Lead level story

Bethany Hodgdon of Conway received a letter stating her 22-month-old son, Calvin (above), was exposed to lead when she knew for a fact he hadn't been. The state Department of Health and Human Services subsequently sent out a press release saying erroneous letters were sent to 297 parents. (COURTESY PHOTO)

CONWAY — The state Department of Health and Human Services has publicly apologized to parents after sending out letters erroneously stating that tests showed that their children had been exposed to lead. However it also advised  that not every advisory was sent in error.

A local mother who says she received an erroneous letter wants more than just a corrected form letter from the state.
