OSSIPEE — Gov. Kelly Ayotte congratulated Ossipee police for becoming a 287(g) law enforcement agency, which the chief and the selectmen’s chair say means the police have more tools to identify and apprehend illegal immigrants. Meanwhile, New Hampshire ACLU recommends police forces don't sign up for this program.

At Monday’s meeting, Selectman Brian Keyes read aloud a letter from Ayotte to Chief Donald Babbin.

Don’t let the ACLU influence you against the right decision the town has made to back up ICE when an Illegal Immigrate is involved. We deal with them first hand. They do not respect our laws. They do whatever they want. Talking from experience here in VA.

A $77,000 zoning ordinance fee/fine from the select board is simply more evidence that the select board wishes to evict non wealthy citizens from Ossipee.

It seems like those that don't follow the law are being held accountable. What's wrong with that?
