Deer have developed adaptations, such as an insulative winter coat, to survive severe winters and don't require supplemental food, Fish and Game says. (COURTESY PHOTO)

CONWAY — A sleuthing Fish and Game conservation officer found out why there have been so many deer-related vehicle accidents on East Conway Road lately, Town Manager Tom Holmes told selectmen Tuesday.

According to Conway police, there have been 38 deer-related car accidents in town since Oct 1. Of those, 13 have taken place between the railroad tracks on East Conway Road and Twombly's Market since Oct 22.
