CONWAY — Tucked away in a cabinet in my den lies a photo album that tells the story of my mother, Barbara Hatch, and her experience with the WW II war effort. It is filled with black-and-white photos of New Caledonia (the island where she was stationed), the servicemen, the island natives and the tropical landscapes.
