FRYEBURG, Maine — A Fryeburg man was charged with aggravated reckless conduct for allegedly firing a gun at another man.
On Monday night at about 11:50 p.m. Fryeburg Police responded to Portland Street in Fryeburg after receiving a 9-1-1 call of a shooting.
Officers arrived on scene within a few minutes and took Michael Warren, 60, of Fryeburg into custody.
Police allege Warren fired two shots from a .9 mm handgun at a 37-year-old man after a verbal altercation.
"The male victim fled the scene after the altercation. However, we do not believe he sustained life-threatening injuries. The suspect had been consuming alcohol during the time of the incident." said Chief Joshua Potvin, who said he hopes the victim was not shot. "There were two small children under the age of 10 sleeping in the residence when the gun was fired."
Warren was transported to the Oxford County Jail where he was ordered held on $250 cash bail.
Officers seized a loaded .9mm semi-automatic handgun from the scene at the time of arrest.
Warren is scheduled to appear for arraignment in Bridgton District Court on Oct. 15.
