FRYEBURG, Maine — Forty-one Oxford County residents gathered at the Fryeburg Public Library on Monday to brainstorm ways to address the large-scale water extraction by Poland Spring during a meaningful drought.

Maine has experienced its sixth driest meteorological summer (June-July-August) in 2025 on record since 1895, according to the National Weather Service.
