MADISON — “Imagination is a superpower,” is the message author/illustrator Marty Kelley brought to the youngsters in the Early Childhood Program at Madison Elementary on Tuesday.

Kelley, who was at the school as part of the CLiF Year of the Book grant the school got in August by the Children’s Literacy Foundation (CLiF), is a former second-grade teacher from Manchester who has written and illustrated many children’s books. They include “Pugnapped!’ “Fall Is Not Easy,” “Winter Woes,” “Summer Stinks,” “A Cape!” and “Fame, Fortune, and the Bran Muffins of Doom.”
