MADISON — Is there anything sweeter than maple syrup? Maybe winning an award for it.Â
For the first time in their eight years of competing, the Madison Elementary School third and fourth grade classes took the first place award in the Tucker Mountain Maple Challenge. Managed by New Hampshire Agriculture in the Classroom, the challenge is a statewide maple syrup production contest for K-12 schools that aims to incorporate agricultural history and STEM education in the classroom by learning about the sugaring process.
