OSSIPEE — A Carroll County circuit judge has ordered a local woman to vacate her mobile home, where she was keeping from 50-100 birds, including fowl such as ducks, chickens and geese, as well as several dogs.

The woman, Christine Harris, 67, says it was all a misunderstanding and the town of Ossipee and Judge Melissa Vetanze are persecuting her.

This is no "misunderstanding". This exact same thing happens wherever she goes. She has charges of animal abuse and animal hoarding in conditions similar to this going back decades. I feel sorry for all her neighbors, past, current, and future. The bigger point is she obviously needs treatment, and until the cycle of abusing animals and condemned properties is broken, she is just going to repeat this again in someone else's neighborhood. I understand what Ossipee is doing, but it's really just pushing the problem off on someone else.
