FRYEBURG, Maine — Residents will be once again asked to vote on a proposed municipal complex to house the fire, police departments as well as the town office. This time, instead of at town meeting, they will be asked to vote on the tweaked concept during the general elections on Nov. 5.

In June, town officials proposed a 29,500-square-foot complex to be located on town-owned land off Route 302 between the town highway garage and Recreation Drive. But Article 3 failed by a wide margin, 408 no to 310 yes votes. The estimated cost of the building was $16.5 million, but town officials were hopeful that would be offset by a $5 million federal grant, among other sources of extra funding.
