CONWAY — It was hard to get where you wanted to go this past Columbus Day weekend, when bumper-to-bumper Fryeburg Fair traffic turned Route 302 into a parking lot and eager leaf peepers slowed normal traffic to a crawl to appreciate the majesty of the fall colors.

Jackson Police Chief Chris Perley said drivers should be extra cautious because leaf peepers can be spellbound by the foliage.
