FRYEBURG, Maine — Several homes in Fryeburg had to be evacuated Monday evening after a resident struck a propane tank spout with his vehicle.

The accident occurred on Woodland Street at around 6 p.m., according to Fryeburg Fire Chief Andrew Dufresne, who said the accident happened when a vehicle struck some piping of an underground propane tank.
