Hackket DeMars 1

Attorney Timothy Mainella of Shaheen & Gordon of Dover argues in Carroll County Superior Court on March 26 that Paul Hackett and Veronica DeMars (right) shouldn't be fined for zoning violations because they were not served and items of value were removed from their property in excess of a court order. OSSIPEE — The town of Ossipee was awarded a judgment to collect $77,000 in zoning fines from a couple whose property was twice cleaned up by town staff. However, the fines were even higher before a Carroll County Superior Court judge decided to give the couple a break because items of sentimental value were tossed.

On March 26, Judge Mark Attorri held a hearing in the case of “Town of Ossipee v Paul Hackett Jr.,” and he issued an order the same day.
