CONWAY — Responding to questions about the all-black appearance of the town’s new police cruisers, Police Chief Chris Mattei said the department skipped the usual white vinyl wrap to save money — not to look "shady."
Mattei and selectmen discussed the cruisers' aesthetics at Tuesday's selectmen's meeting.

If you want to save more money, get rid of the light bars. LED lighting is so good now, you can put the lights inside the car above the dash and in the front grill with flashing headlights. Same in back. Red and blue LEDs in the back window and the tail lights. Lots of PDs do this now.
