CONWAY — Work has begun on replacing the Conway Public Library’s columns that were destroyed in a fatal car crash that took place in March 2022. According to Jeff Beavers, library director, the work is expected to be complete within a month and a half.
On March 31, 2022, Harold Hill Jr., then 31, of Harrison, Maine, was intoxicated and drove his pickup into the library. The crash killed passenger Brooke Barron, 21, a local gymnastics coach. Hill was later sentenced to up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter charges.
