OSSIPEE — Carroll County officials, including one nicknamed the "Blueberry Czar," report that Scout Troops from North Conway and Tamworth are doing a great job taking over the county's blueberry crop this summer and that they hope the program continues.

Last year and the year before, the county had been trying pick your own blueberries, but commissioners said that depended on inmate labor, which was getting harder to use because inmates were involved in so many new treatment programs. Delegation members also desired private groups maintain the county land.
