JACKSON — Black Mountain has been making a lot of news over the past two years under the guidance of new owner, president and general manager Erik Mogensen — and it’s making big news again.

After having its earliest ever season opening this Saturday, becoming the first ski area in New Hampshire to open by beating Bretton Woods by 75 minutes, (see related story), Mogensen announced this week that Black this season will offer free ski passes to all young Eastern Slope Ski Club Junior Program skiers any day of the week with no blackout dates.
