Spring has officially sprung, according to N.H. Department of Transportation. The top of Hurricane Mountain Road on the Bartlett-Conway town line opened yesterday afternoon, along with Bear Notch Road in Bartlett opened. The roads had been closed since Nov. 2.Mike Lane, of DOT, said Evans Notch will also be reopening after being closed for the winter. The roads traditionally close the beginning of November and such was the case this winter when 10 inches of snow fell on the roads on Nov. 2. They typically open around the beginning of May, but have opened as early as late March in the past.Lane said both roads received less than the normal amount of snowfall this past winter and were able to open a litle ahead of schedule this spring.
