WELCOME TO WHAT PROMISES to be a very snowy, football action-packed weekend here in Mount Washington Valley, where we await perhaps as much as 2 feet of snow in Saturday night into Sunday while looking forward to the AFC Championship game Sunday evening between the Pats and the Kansas City Chiefs at 6:40 p.m. on CBS — provided that we have power and don’t lose cable, right?

Add the fact that it’s Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, and it’s shaping up to be a fabulous one here in the valley, where Old Man Winter doesn’t show any signs of being shut down, just like there doesn’t at this time appear to be any signs of the government shutdown ending in Malfunction Junction, otherwise known as Washington, D.C.
