Twas the week before Christmas, and all through the town, many creatures of all ages were stirring, making plenty of sound. Budget committees working on their spreadsheets with care, knowing that town meeting soon will be there. The townsfolk will nestle, all snug in their beds, when visions of school break, skiing and family parties will dance in their heads. Before you take your long winters nap, head to the Madison Church on Christmas Eve for the candlelight service, starting at 7 p.m.
There is a sign hung in some police dispatch centers that reads “You know where you are, and God knows where you are. If your dispatcher doesn’t know where you are, then I hope you and God are on good terms.” The same may be said for those of you who leave it to chance, throw caution to the wind, and maybe tap-dance with life on the edge. I’m talking of those who don’t have their house numbered.
