Believe in Books Literacy Foundation has recently posted its bookmobile schedule. For those of you with young children living in the Fryeburg area, the bookmobile will be at Sherman Farms on East Conway Road on Tuesdays from June 26 to Aug 14. Each Tuesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. the bookmobile offers gently used books to kids of all ages and gratefully accepts donations of the same. Go to believeinbooks.org for more stops and information. Believe in Books supports literacy initiatives in Northern New England.
Local businesses offering pick-your-own strawberries should be opening any time now and I can hardly wait. The East Conway Community Hall will host its 69th annual Strawberry Festival from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 29. This is an all-you-can eat buffet of casseroles, salads, cold cuts, drinks and homemade strawberry shortcake. Get there early as there is always a line.
