The Sandwich Singers will be offering comfort and joy in three Christmas concerts on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the Melvin Village Community Church in Melvin Village; on Thursday, Dec. 12, at St. Andrew’s-in-the-Valley on Whittier Road in Tamworth; and on Sunday, Dec. 15, at the Methodist Meeting House in Center Sandwich. All concerts are at 7 p.m. The Sandwich Singers, under the direction of Peggy Johnson, is composed of residents of Freedom, Sandwich, Tamworth, Madison, and Conway. Among the Sandwich Singers, and presenting a comforting song from their own repertoire, are a number of members of the Silver Lake Singers, a choir for hospice and healing, directed by Mary Edes. The Melvin Village Community Church bell ringers perform in Melvin, and are loaning bells for the other concerts. Admission is free, but donations are warmly received and help support the concerts and the churches whose wonderful warm spaces they use.
The next pizza and movie night at the Freedom Public Library will be Friday, Dec. 13, at 5 p.m. featuring “Dora and the Lost City of Gold.” Cheese pizza is $4 per person. Students are invited to come directly from school to the library for some pre-movie fun starting at approximately 3:45 p.m. Make Christmas cards, try out the new Wii game, “Just Dance 2020,” and more. Snacks are provided. Game night for adults is Tuesday, Dec. 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Pizza dinner with salad and cookies is available with price by donation. Games will include cribbage, Sequence and Banagrams, and at least one other game. If you would be willing to lead a game, the library needs you. Contact Elizabeth at (603) 539-5176 to discuss.
