Driving down Route 153 south, signs of spring greeted me everywhere: From seeing a small doe on the side of the road enjoying the fresh air, to many yellow harbingers of spring, the daffodils, to red buds on so many trees, to a big golden forsythia bush in Freedom. Yes, it is finally here, and I know everyone is breathing in the wonderful air, letting the breeze blow your hair around, and smiling about the fact that winter really is over. The forsythia always reminds me of our home in Montclair, N.J., where we had bushes in our back yard, and Judy and I both knew that in our yard spring had sprung. I hope you are all loving the weather, drinking in the sunshine, and grinning.

Again this year, the Eaton Conservation Commission has funds available to pay part of the cost for Eaton children between the ages of 4 and 16 to attend Tin Mountain Conservation Center summer camps. Call them very soon to register. If interested, contact Judy Fowler at (603) 447-5635 until April 26. This is a super way to enjoy nature and all it has to offer.
