ALBANY — Tin Mountain Conservation Center will be presenting "Hike to Church Pond Bog" with David Govatski on Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meet at Downes Brook Trailhead (across Passaconaway Campground) in Albany.

Church Pond is a beautiful but seldom visited peatland in Albany and Livermore. At over 100-acres it is the largest bog in the White Mountain National Forest. The round-trip hike is just over two miles and is relatively flat, but does require knee-deep wading across the Swift River twice so bring wading shoes and dry socks. We will have lunch at a knoll topped with red pines overlooking the pond.
