If you have ever owned a home, you know there are two things you can always count on — taxes and maintenance costs. My husband and I knew we were in trouble when the shingles on our roof started breaking down and falling off this winter. This might have been easier to accept if not for the fact that they were supposed to be 30-year shingles. We had them installed on our roof 15 years ago. C’est la vie! Future vacation plans may be delayed for a while.
On a much happier note, we have our annual Mayfest fundraiser coming up on Sunday, May 6. This year’s Mayfest will be held at the Abenaki Trail Restaurant & Pub on Route 16 in North Conway. The doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and are available at the Gibson Center or by calling (603) 356-3231.
