JACKSON — The Friends of the Jackson Public Library will be presenting “Working as Maryknoll Lay Missioners: Our Journey in Faith and Solidarity in San Paulo, Brazil” with Kathleen Maynard and Marcelo Maiorano on Sunday, Aug. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Jackson Public Library at 52 Main St. in Jackson.

Jackson native Maynard, her husband Maiorano and their two daughters spent a year living and working in San Paulo, Brazil as Maryknoll Lay Missioners. They will share stories about their experiences learning Portuguese, acclimating in Brazilian culture, and working with immigrants, refugees, and other underserved populations.
