Golf Tournament Hole-in-One Car

At the annual golf tournament at the North Conway Country Club there will be a hole-in-one prize of a car from Crest Auto World. From left: Ian Harmon, the center’s program director and tournament coordinator, and Chris Weiss, general manager of Crest with the prize car. (COURTESY PHOTO)

We keep hoping to turn off the heat, but spring isn’t cooperating. The North Conway Community Center did, however, have a good crowd on a cold Sunday to enjoy the 4 Our Kids recycling Earth Day Funergy Festival. I’m sure more will be written about this in this week’s news.

All of this came on the heels of our solar panel installation that was finished last Tuesday and which is already generating electricity for the center’s use. The 52 panels generate 18,200 kW of power and even on cloudy days there is some gain. We have a real-time online view of the process and will soon have a lobby display for all to see. As of Monday morning, we had already generated enough energy to offset the planting of 17 trees.
