Maureen Frances Whalen Spaight, 77, a longtime proud resident of Rhode Island, and for the past 15 years a lover of life in the Mount Washington Valley, passed from this life on Feb. 19 in the arms of her family after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Maureen was born and raised in Providence, R.I., the youngest child of Richard F. and Alice B. (Conde) Whalen. She attended St. Teresa School and St. Xavier Academy in Providence and held undergraduate and graduate degrees from Rhode Island College.
