CONWAY — A solar project to be built at the town landfill cannot become operational until 2029 because of issues with Eversource, Steve Barrett, a representative of Boston-based Kearsarge Energy, told selectmen at their Tuesday meeting.

In April 2024, residents voted 1,031-631 to allow the town to lease space at the Conway landfill for a solar energy facility. Minutes from 2024 say the town stood to gain a 1.9-megawatt ground-mounted project covering about 6.2 acres that would be on a capped section of the landfill.
