MADISON — The resignation of Linda Shackford as Madison town administrator was announced by selectmen Tuesday and comes weeks after her husband, Josh Shackford, resigned as the Department of Public Works director. Both Linda and Josh cited a toxic work environment as the reason for their departures. This comes as residents and selectmen have been engaged in heated discussions about employee use of public property.

Residents will vote on Article 24 at Madison Town Meeting on March 14 to decide whether to spend up to $8,000 on an independent investigation into town employees’ personal use of public equipment.
