Della Smith

Della (Tartaglia) Smith of Brownfield, Maine, passed away peacefully in her home with her sons John and Karl by her side on May 19. 2025. Della was 96. She was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Providence, R.I., the daughter of the late Salvatore and Isabel (Skinner) Tartaglia.

She was the oldest of 14 children. On Aug. 30, 1949, she became a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Providence, where she was a very active member for decades. She left Providence in 1972, settling in North Conway, N.H., and later, Brownfield, Maine.
