Jane Edwards Chapman, 87, of Falmouth, Maine died June 19. She was born Jan. 16, 1916 in Beverly, Mass. to Edward C. Edwards and Hilda Cutts Woodbury. She graduated from Goddard Seminary for Girls in Barre, Vt. in 1934 and entered Faulkner Hospital School of Nursing. On Oct. 18, 1938, she married J. Wilbur Chapman III. He preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 2000, after 62 years. She was a resident at Falmouth House at Oceanview where she was loved both by staff and residents for her kindness and compassion.A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at Falmouth House at Oceanview in Falmouth on Wednesday, June 25, at 2 p.m. An interment will follow for immediate family members in Beverly at a future date.She is survived by her brother, Edward C. Edwards of Phoenix, Ariz.; daughters, Lynne Vaughan Chapman Grabelle of Sarasota, Fla. and Brooke Chapman Hatch of Bridgton, Maine; cousin Marjorie Linder Monkhouse of Scarborough, Maine; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Arrangements are with Lee, Moody and Russell Funeral Home at 9 Dane St. in Beverly.
