WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. — White River Junction Veterans Affairs leadership will be hosting a Veterans Town Hall and Open House.

The event provides a chance for veterans (enrolled and not enrolled), families, stakeholders, and the general public to hear a presentation from the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) on the Appeals Modernization Act as well as disability compensation, disability pensions, and other benefits.

The event will be held from 1-4 p.m., Thursday, March 21, in Room 103 of the William A Yasinski Research and Conference Building (Building 44), at the White River Junction VA Medical Center, 99 Veterans Drive, White River Junction, Vt.

At the town hall meeting, veterans can get the latest information about VA health care and services. Share your experiences, ideas and suggestions with VA leadership. Enroll in VA health care. Bring your DD-214.

There will be an added bonus of an open house, an opportunity to see a wide range of specialty medical services offered at White River Junction VA Medical Center and learn about new offerings on VA campuses.

This event provides veterans across New Hampshire and Vermont with an opportunity to be briefed on the latest developments at the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and to provide feedback and ask questions of VA senior leadership on veterans' issues.

Representatives from the regional Veterans Health Administration and Veterans Benefits Administration will provide information and take questions. Staff from the VA outpatient clinic in White River Junction will also be available.

A VA outreach team will also be setup at the event to assist eligible veterans with enrolling in VA health care. Veterans should bring their DD-214, “Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty,” as well as current financial and medical insurance information to the town hall to assist counselors with determining individual eligibility for VA benefits.

The event is free. Signup or pre-registration is not required.
