SANDWICH — Trish Murray, D.O., will give a free talk on functional medicine and how it can be used to address chronic disease at Benz Community Center at 5 p.m. Friday.

Dr. Murray, who owns the Discover Health Functional Medicine Center in Conway, is the author of “Make a D.E.N.T. in Chronic Disease, Your Guide to Living Pain Free Through Functional Medicine.”  Murray said wrote the book to advance her mission, to empower people to achieve their greatest state of well-being.

Readers can expect to: gain knowledge about how to “get to the root cause of your illness;” learn about how your perception drives your stress level; explore ways to empower yourself to take control of your health; gain tools to make healthy lifestyle changes;  and discover the profound effect life choices have on your immune system.

Murray has been certified in four different medical specialties including internal medicine, osteopathic manipulative medicine, energy medicine and functional medicine.  She went into medicine after being a teacher for a decade in public education and completing medical school in the top 10 percent of her graduating class at the age of 38 years old.

Murray is the founder of Discover Health Functional Medicine Center and has instructed and supported thousands of patients through their personal journey to restore and optimize their health from a multitude of chronic diseases.

The Benz Community Center is located at 18 Heard Road in Center Sandwich.
