Doris Beatty Cobb, 72, formerly of Montclair, N.J., died on Feb. 1, 2007, in Chatham after a long illness.Doris was the youngest daughter of F. Merrill Beatty and Doris Margaret Beatty. Born on Feb. 4, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., she and the Beatty family moved to Montclair in 1937, where Doris resided for 67 years, until 2003. She spent the last three and a half years living with her daughter Laura and her family in New Hampshire.Doris is survived by her son, Rick Cobb, and wife Elizabeth of Boulder, Colo.; her son, Michael Cobb, and wife Cathy of Salisbury, N.C.; her daughter, Laura McCabe, and husband Joseph of Chatham; her son, Jeffrey Cobb and wife Jessica of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and her grandchildren, Megan and Sean Cobb, and Calum and Eamonn McCabe.A memorial service followed by a reception will be held at the Union Congregational Church at 179 Cooper Avenue in Upper Montclair, N.J., on Saturday, March 17, at 1 p.m.Arrangements are with Wood Funeral Home, Fryeburg, Maine.
