The University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension is offering a new learn-at-home course called "Investing for Your Future."The 150-page workbook, "Investing For Your Future" begins with a session on topics such as setting goals, investment principles (e.g., diversification), and "finding" money to invest. It also discusses specific types of investments, including stock, fixed-income securities, and mutual funds. Units also focus on tax-advantaged investing and investments that can be purchased for $1,000 or less. The last three units cover investor resources (e.g., books, Web sites), how to select professional financial advisors, and information about types and warning signs of investment fraud.To order the learn at home course, "Investing For Your Future," contact Carroll County Cooperative Extension. Cost of the course is $10, plus $4 for shipping. Checks should be made payable to UNH and mailed to UNH Cooperative Extension Carroll County, P.O.
