Betty R. (Duguay) Mersereau, 68, of Chester, Mass., a retired Nurses Aide for 24 years for the former Westfield (Mass.) Manor Nursing Home, died Friday at her home. She retired in 1994. Born in Berlin, on September 2, 1933, the daughter of Frank and Beatrice (Dionne) Duguay, she had lived in Bartlett before moving to Chester in 1963. She was a member of the Chester Fire Department Womens Auxiliary. She leaves her husband of 53 years, Gerald Mersereau of Chester; three daughters, Starr Theriault of Northampton, Mass., Margie Rice and her husband Mark Rice of Chester, Mass. and Lorna Basford and her husband Wesley Basford of Rochester; a brother, James A. Mersereau of North Conway; a sister, Patricia R. Rogerson of Bartlett; seven grandchildren, Mark Rice and his wife Sally, Martha Rice, Terrie, Joseph, Gerald, Debbie, and Andrew Theriault; three great-grandchildren, Samantha and Sebastian Ellis, and Sarah Jane Dyer. She was predeceased by a son, Norman Mersereau, who passed away in 1994. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home with the Rev. David Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in the Bartlett Village Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the OBrien Hilltown Community Funeral Home in Huntington, Mass. There will also be visiting hours Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway. Donations may be made to the North Conway Fire Department, P.O.
