North Country Fair Jewelers has been family owned and operated by Brian Smith for 56 years. “I’m one of only two people in town that still owns their own business after that many years,” Smith said. Together with his daughter Katie Smith, and daughter and son-in-law Emily Smith-Mossman and Greg Mossman, and gemologist Lynne Mac Donald, the store handles procuring, creating, designing, appraising and repairing all types of jewelry, buying and selling gold and silver, appraising estate jewelry, and coin dealership.

Smith prides himself and his family on being able to repair and redesign almost anything, including antique pieces. “We can create, repair or make almost anything,” Smith said. “We can take a cherished piece and make something else out of it, either by changing it slighting or renaming it,” he added.
