BROWNFIELD, Maine — Selectmen Ricky Emery and Brian Fortier survived recall challenges Thursday by wide margins, with citizens rejecting Emery’s recall by a vote of 405-196 and Fortier’s 397-204.

Voting was held at Town Hall from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Voters cast 603 ballots, including a couple of blanks, according to Deputy Town Clerk Michelle Day. With about 1,300 registered voters, turnout was roughly 46 percent.
