Valentine's Day luncheons, dance planned

GIBSON GLEANINGSBarbara Ray February 8, 2008 It looks like Punxsutawney Phil wasnt kidding when he said he saw his shadow. Do you think we have enough snow yet? As you may recall, it snowed last Tuesday and normally I would have taken a snow day but I was already out and about so I went to work. It snowed again on Wednesday and I was tempted but I had things to finish up so I went to work. When it snowed again on Thursday the third day in a row I decided God was trying to tell me something, Take a snow day, Barb! So I did. Despite the weather we had a wonderful turn out for our annual Valentine's Auction. We want to thank everyone for participating and hope you realize how much we appreciate your support of the Gibson Center. It was great seeing you all there and we hope you enjoyed it. Its Valentines Day this week and well be extending our celebration a bit. We start Monday with one of my favorite romance comedies Sleepless in Seattle. Wednesday and Thursday well have a lovely Valentine's luncheon of roast turkey (reservations are needed so please call or stop by the front desk). To add to the fun, Frank Hastings will be here to provide karaoke music at Wednesdays luncheon and Thursday well be holding a Valentines Day dance in our activity room starting at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully, the weather will hold up for us. Finally, on Friday well show another romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally. Plan to join us.Have a good week; pray for our troops and the folks on the Gulf Coast. People can explore feelings, or tell a story.The group will find movements to facilitate the telling of the story. Sign up by calling 356-3231.Valentine's Ballroom Dance, Feb. 14: Alice Clapp will host the dance with favorite music. Cost is $5 and a donation to the food bank.
