Community Clubs holiday dinner is this week
The Freedom Old Home Week committee had its first meeting of the 2008 season this past weekend. There was a good turnout and plans for Old Home Week 2008 are well under way. They will be meeting on the first Saturday of the month, up until old home week, which will take place this year from Aug. 1 until Aug. 10. Rubber Ducky Day will take place on June 28. One of the items on the agenda, was the Old Home Week shirts from the summer of 2007. There are 10 shirts left. To buy one of these valuable collectors items, call John Shipman at 539 -5799. More volunteers are always welcome and needed for Freedoms old home week.All summer, the Freedom Public Library displayed pictures of patrons and their pets on its digital picture frame at the front desk. Now the library is gathering patrons wedding or commitment ceremony photos to display around Valentines Day. Please bring in a photo to be scanned, or email your picture to freedomlibrary@roadrunner.com.Katherine Welch has been awarded cum laude honors for the past trimester at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro. Katherine is a junior at Brewster and is the daughter of Mary and Matt Welch of Freedom and granddaughter of Freedom residents Barbara and Don Welch.Dont miss Freedomites Matt Krug with his story telling and Philip and Paul Mathieu with their music performing at the Barnstormers, "An Evening of Story Telling for the Holidays." The after dinner show is the return of the Freedom Elementary School musical program, for their eighth annual appearance, which is always a popular show.Dont forget Freedoms special weekend with the Holiday House Tour, Tea, Plant Sale and Christmas Tree Showcase on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 8 and 9. Call Pam at 539-5084 for tickets and more information. The gala on Saturday includes an orchestra and local restaurants serving appetizers. It sounds like a great time.
