CONWAY — In conjunction with M&D Playhouse’s latest production, “August: Osage County,” an artist reception will be held for local artist Dave Gorke on Thursday, Aug. 2, at 6 p.m. at 1857 White Mountain Highway, North Conway.

Gorke began his journey in photography with a borrowed 35-mm film camera in 1983 in Yosemite National Park while backpacking through the Sierra Mountains. He continued to photograph his experiences and travels until he retired in 1999. In 2001, Gorke took his first photographic workshop in the Shenandoah Mountains of Virginia and became hooked on trying to produce quality images.
