INTERVALE — The hills, or rather the valley, will be alive with the sound of music thanks to Believe in Books' production of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic “The Sound of Music,” the first musical to utilize Theater in Wood’s outdoor amphitheater in Intervale.
“It has been a long road to get to a point where we can finally use our new amphitheater,” said Believe in Books Executive Director A.O. Lucy. “And to kick it off with the classic musical, ‘Sound of Music’ is definitely a big plus. It’s going to be terrific.”
Hannah-Jo Weisberg is directing "Puffs" for Believe in Books with performances on Friday, April 28, at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 30, at 2 p.m.; and the "The Lightning Thief" for Kennett High School Drama Club with performances Thursday, May 4, Friday, May 5 and Saturday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 7, at 2 p.m. She will also be directing and starring in "The Sound of Music" for Believe in Books Friday, June 2, and Saturday, June 3, at 6 p.m. and Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10 at 6 p.m.
