CONWAY — With “Killer Joe,” M&D Playhouse presents its second Tracy Letts play of the season, following “August: Osage County.” Both are set in the deep south and have an acerbic, crass wit, but similarities end there, as “Killer Joe” is a violent, darkly comic look at a desperate white trash family that is willing to go to extreme lengths to get out of destitution.
“Killer Joe” opens with low-level drug dealer Chris (Eric Jordan, who also directed) convincing his father Ansel (Jonathan Dubey) to hire the titular Joe (Jason Stevens) to kill his mother, Ansel’s ex-wife.
