BROWNFIELD, Maine — Stone Mountain Arts Center is delighted to welcome Ward Hayden & the Outliers on Saturday, Jan. 31, for a night of high-lonesome country, rock-and-roll grit, and stories that ring true. With a sound steeped in classic American music and a live show that’s equal parts heart, humor, and heat, this is a band that knows how to make a room lean in and listen — and then get folks up on their feet.

At the center of it all is Hayden, a singer, songwriter and bandleader with a deep love for the traditions of country music. Raised on the voices of Hank Williams, Buck Owens, and Merle Haggard, Hayden also draws lasting inspiration from Bruce Springsteen — particularly Springsteen’s gift for writing songs about everyday people, hard choices, hope, and redemption. That influence shows up in Hayden’s songs, that feel lived-in and honest, delivered with a baritone voice that can sound tender one moment and fearless the next.
