“High Spirits,” a charming comedic ghost story set in Ireland starring Peter O’Toole, Daryl Hannah, Steve Guttenberg, Jennifer Tilly, Liam Neeson, Beverly D’Angelo, Connie Booth and Peter Gallagher is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. Celebrate is perhaps the wrong word as most people probably don’t remember its existence.

The film centers on Peter Plunkett (O’Toole) who is failing to run the family castle as a hotel. An American investor wants to move it to California and turn it into an amusement park. To save the hotel, Plunkett strikes upon the idea of advertising the castle as being haunted and having his staff pretend to be ghosts.
