The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period is when all Medicare beneficiaries can join, switch or drop plans. It began Oct. 1 with plan availability for 2027 announced and enrollments able to be submitted on Oct. 15 for Jan. 1, 2027, effective dates. The enrollment period ends Dec. 7. We learned Oct. 1 that there would be no Medicare Advantage plans in Carroll and Coos counties for 2027.
In a surprising and unprecedented announcement on Friday, Oct. 16, Gov. Kelly Ayotte issued a press release stating that New Hampshire Medicare beneficiaries in Coos and Carroll counties will indeed have Medicare Advantage plans availability for 2027. On Oct. 21, confirmation came out that a company called Devoted, which had already filed plans in Grafton, Sullivan and Hillsborough counties, has added Carroll and Coos counties for 2027, but enrollments will not be available until Nov. 1.
