Holiday Inn movie

Released in 1942, "Holiday Inn" was the debut of the iconic Christmas song "White Christmas." (COURTESY OF PARAMOUNT PICTURES)

“White Christmas,” starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen, is regarded as a holiday classic. But I truly believe the only reason it is played during the holiday season is because of its title and the inclusion of the iconic Irving Berlin song as sung by Bing Crosby.

But 1954’s “White Christmas” wasn’t the first film to feature the song.
